Food Philosophy
EDC “ EDICT FOR QUALITY” FOOD PHILOSOPHY
Eat Drink Collective envisions a world in which all people can access and enjoy food that is good for them, good for those who grow it and good for the planet.
The food production and consumption systems most common today are harmful to the earth, to its ecosystems and to the peoples that inhabit it.
Taste, biodiversity, the health of humans and animals, well-being and nature are coming under continuous attack. This jeopardises the very urge to eat and produce food as gastronomes and exercise the right to pleasure without harming the existence of others or the environmental equilibria of the planet we live on.
Eat Drink Collective believes that ‘Eating is an agricultural act', it follows that producing food must be considered a ‘Gastronomic act'
Our approach is based on a concept of food that is defined by three interconnected principles: good, clean and fair.
- GOOD - quality, fresh, flavoursome and healthy food – the old fashioned way from our nostalgic recipe.
- CLEAN: production that does not harm the environment.
- FAIR:accessible prices for consumers and fair conditions and pay for producers.
We believe in supporting those who support us, which is why much of what you eat at Eat Drink Collective is sourced from local, family-run businesses.
At Eat Drink Collective our fresh produce arrives whole in its natural form. We then spend abundant amounts of time preparing before we open our serveries.
We take a holistic approach to nutrition – ensuring our foods are made with a healthy food philosophy in mind.
